Combing or bug busting is a method of removing lice with the regular use of a fine toothed comb.

Good results require families to be highly motivated and follow the routine closely.

The treatment requires combing at least every four days over a two-week period, so that newly-hatched lice are removed before they can lay eggs.  Bug busting doesn't involve strong chemicals, and lice cannot become resistant to it. It can also be used for routinely checking the hair for infection. However, there is no really reliable evidence to verify its effectiveness.
